Twenty-story high-rise on Forest Ave, less than a 5-minute walk to the centre of ASU's Tempe campus. Opened in 2018 with 407 fully furnished units across studio to 5-bedroom layouts, with all utilities included. The building has a resort-style pool with a sundeck, a two-story fitness centre, a rooftop deck with city and mountain views, multiple study lounges, and concierge services on site. Located steps from Mill Avenue and the entire length of the Apache restaurant strip. Given the premium location directly adjacent to campus, it typically operates near full occupancy - leases fill early and waitlists are common.
What residents say
Union Tempe has a genuinely unbeatable location — steps from ASU and Mill Avenue — and the building itself is modern and well-maintained. The main thing to budget for carefully is electricity. The building uses a pooled system where costs are split across residents, so your bill reflects building-wide usage rather than just your own. Residents report paying around $65 per person monthly, which is higher than the figures sometimes quoted during tours. Parking is an additional $155 per month if you need it. Management responsiveness has improved based on more recent reviews, though some residents note that escalating issues in writing gets faster results than verbal requests. On move-out, keep thorough photo documentation — a handful of residents have had to follow up to resolve deposit questions. Overall a strong option if location is your top priority and you go in with accurate cost expectations.

Union Tempe is easily a 10/10. I went on a tour, and Lucas was my guide he was absolutely amazing! His energy was unmatched, and he did an incredible job showcasing everything Union Tempe has to offer. Lucas truly made the experience memorable. That man deserves a raise!

As a single mom who works hard, finding a place that truly feels like home means everything — and Union Tempe has been just that! The community is safe, beautiful, and so well-maintained. The amenities make life easier, and the location is unbeatable. I have to give a special shoutout to Chapmin, the manager — she is absolutely fantastic! She goes above and beyond to make sure tenants are taken care of and always takes the time to listen and help. You can tell she genuinely cares about creating a great living experience for everyone here. I couldn’t be happier calling Union Tempe home — highly recommend it to anyone looking for a supportive and well-managed community!

Only good thing about living here is the location and if you get lucky enough to get a good view of the city. Besides that, the management is awful, greedy, and it’s just honestly a scam to live here. I lived at Union for 2 years, the first year was a 5BDx4BT and then renewed to a 4BDx4BT. They pushed us to resign early to get the best price, but increased our rent by $400 ($1800/month) anyways. And then, a couple months later, were offering the unit we resigned for around $1000/month. After 2 years and spending around $40k total on rent at Union, they still sent me a bill for $60 for paint chips and damages… I sent photo evidence that these were present before I moved in & they refused to write it off. Also the amenities are randomly shut down & inaccessible (the pool was always closed for random weekends during the summertime & the gym was shut down for over 2 months during my second year.) I loved the view and balcony, but it’s really not worth it. I recommend spending your money somewhere with management that actually cares about you.

Just signed my lease here for 2026-2027 and had an amazing tour with Chloe Stone. She was super helpful and explained the whole process to my roomate and I very well. The Apartments are nice quality and the amenities are worth the money. Great location and good staff!

Believe the reviews & be ready to clean before you can move in. At move in to the furnished apt the leather couch had some..fluids? on it, floors were sticky with crumbs, cabinets looked like they had been given a courtesy wipe with a dirty rag, the furnace filter was caked with dust. Cleaning lady returned at my request to show me pictures of a bathroom that she had cleaned but did not address what I was showing her. Like most experiences with Union, you end up giving up and accepting the rubbish. Another reviewer mentions "predatory pricing". Couldn't agree more. The leasing staff is very pushy calling, emailing, rushing you to hurry up and sign....and yet when you do, they have a sweet caveat to everything that the date & time doesn't really matter because the fine print reads the offer is good until a cap is met...magical, that the portal won't let you sign within the allotted time because wouldn't you know it, that cap has been met and we need to raise the rent price for you. There's no winning with them. The location is nice, once you clean your windows the views are pretty good too.
